  • Welcome to the heart of Central Asia! Arrive at Tashkent International Airport and complete immigration, baggage collection, and customs formalities. Meet our representative in the arrival lounge for a seamless transfer to the Mercure 4* Hotel or a similar property for check-in. After a restful break from your trans-Atlantic flight, embark on a half-day Tashkent city tour. Visit iconic landmarks like Independence Square, Amir Timur Square, and other historical and cultural sites that showcase Tashkent’s vibrant heritage. Overnight at a comfortable 3-star hotel in Tashkent.

  • Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before diving into a guided sightseeing tour of Tashkent’s Old City. Explore the Khast-Imam Complex, home to the world-famous Quran, featuring architectural gems like Barak-Khan Madrasah, Tillya Sheykh Mosque, Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Next, immerse yourself in the bustling Chorsu Bazaar, a vibrant marketplace for daily necessities and local crafts. In the evening, transfer to Tashkent’s domestic airport for a 1.5-hour flight to Khiva. Upon arrival, check into the Islom Khoha 3 Hotel* or similar for a restful overnight stay.

  • After breakfast, begin your Khiva city tour in this ancient oasis, surrounded by mighty clay walls. Marvel at the Kalta Minor Minaret and explore the Ichan-Kala Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit historic sites like Aminkhan Madrasah, Rahimkhan Madrasah, Juma Mosque, Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum, and the towering Khodja Minaret, the tallest in Uzbekistan.   • After breakfast, journey through the desert to Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of Tamerlane (Timur), a UNESCO World Heritage Site 90 km south of Samarkand. Explore the ruins of Ak-Saray, Tamerlane’s summer palace, and, if time permits, visit the Chorsu Trade Dome and local bazaar. Continue your drive to Samarkand, where you’ll check into a 3-star hotel for the night.

  • Begin your Samarkand city tour after breakfast, exploring the ancient city of Afrosiab, founded in the 7th century B.C. Visit the archaeological reserve with its ancient citadel, royal palace, and 8th–12th-century mosque ruins. Key landmarks include Gur Emir Mausoleum, Bibi Khanym Mosque, Rukhabad Mausoleum, and the iconic Registan Square, featuring Ulugbek Madrasa, Sherdor Madrasa, and Tilla-Kari Madrasa. Tour Fitness Level:

Moderate: Suitable for travelers of all ages in good health, with a moderate level of fitness and a spirit of adventure. The tour will include some long walking days and periods of standing while exploring various sites. Some attractions may involve walking on uneven terrain or navigating steep staircases. Expect a few elevation changes, a well-paced but busy schedule, and several long overland drives. Lodging Level:

Comfortable (3/4-stars): Stay in cozy lodges and hotels with comfortable rooms and en-suite bathrooms. While the services may be more straightforward, you’ll still enjoy a welcoming atmosphere, with essential amenities and on-site facilities that provide a comfortable, hassle-free experience, all meeting international standards.

Visa & Passport:

U.S. citizens between the ages of 16 and 55 must obtain an e-Visa prior to entering Uzbekistan. The e-Visa allows stays of up to 30 days and can be easily obtained online. Travelers aged 55 and older may enter Uzbekistan without a visa for tourism purposes for up to 30 days. It is the sole responsibility of the traveler to ensure they have the correct and valid visa for entry. Additionally, your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your departure date from Uzbekistan and should have at least one blank page for entry and exit stamps. We will provide further instructions for the visa s required.

What to Expect on This Journey:

This journey through Uzbekistan will take you across a rich mosaic of Silk Road cities, vibrant bazaars, and UNESCO-listed landmarks. You’ll experience both modern and ancient facets of the country—from the cosmopolitan vibe of Tashkent to the timeless charm of Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand. Travel between cities will be by a combination of comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles, high-speed trains, and a short domestic flight. While the infrastructure is generally well developed, be prepared for occasional delays or changes due to local conditions.

Daily sightseeing often includes 2 to 3 miles of walking through city centers, open-air markets, and historical sites. Surfaces may include cobblestones, uneven terrain, and unpaved paths, especially in Ichan-Kala (Khiva) and the Old City of Bukhara. We recommend comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and layered clothing to ensure comfort throughout the trip.

Uzbekistan’s climate is generally warm and dry, but temperatures may vary between desert and mountain regions. Some days will include early starts or longer travel durations, such as the transfer from Khiva to Bukhara or the excursion to Shakhrisabz. The tour features guided sightseeing with local guides, plus ample free time to explore at your own pace. Highlights include the Bukhara Biennial contemporary art event, Registan Square, Ulugbek Observatory, and Gur-Emir Mausoleum.

Participants should be in good physical health, open to flexible travel schedules, and ready for a dynamic cultural experience.
